For parents, grandparents and teachers

Phum Svay is made for children aged 3–8 to watch, and for you to share with them. Here is how to get the most out of it.

មើលជាមួយគ្នា · Watch together

Children learn most when a grown-up watches with them and talks about it afterwards. Every episode page has a short note for you: what your child learns, one thing to try together, and a question or two to ask.

Easy questions that work after any episode:

• What did Robot get wrong? How did Mali help?
• Can you show me what Mali did?
• Where could we do that at home?

ពេលមើលអេក្រង់ · Screen time: how we keep it short

Each episode is about 3–5 minutes and teaches one idea. One or two episodes, followed by the "Try at home" activity, is plenty for a day. Our website never plays the next video by itself; you choose what comes next.

If your child watches in the YouTube app, you can switch off autoplay in the player, or use the YouTube Kids app.

ហេតុអ្វីភាសាខ្មែរមុន · Why Phum Svay teaches in Khmer first

Children learn best in the language they speak at home. Every episode is in Khmer, with real Khmer letters on screen, so your child hears, sees and says the words. English comes in small steps in the First English chapter, once the Khmer foundation is there.

សន្លឹកលំហាត់ · How to use the practice sheets

Many episodes come with a free A4 practice sheet: tracing letters, counting, drawing. Download it from the episode page and print it in black and white. A pencil and a few minutes after the episode is enough. Teachers are welcome to print them for a class.
